I had to get it to share docs with my wife: collaboration on our common cloud.
Its pricey. It has the advantage of being able to create PDF and docx files for sharing with others who need those formats.
Beyond those (for me) limited cases, I dont use it. I use a little free Avery app (or Moo) for templated items such as business cards, mailing labels, greeting cards, envelopes, etc.
For out-and-out writing, I use Byword (with Markdown): far more straightforward and efficient.
I give Pages a grade C. By definition, half of all apps are below average. Pages is borderline.
